SA Spring Garden Festival 2019
The very picturesque township of Mt Pleasant will be the backdrop to 4th annual SA Spring Garden Festival which will take place on Saturday 21st September, 2019.
The combination of the Spring weather, the exceptionally broad variety of plant and garden wares, informative guest speakers, the charming venue, the diverse range of stallholders, workshops, along with the special programmed events for the day, food and entertainment will see the township of Mount Pleasant come alive for the day.
Crowd favourite, the engaging media presenter Sophie Thomson will be special guest speaker once again this year. Sophie is the South Australian presenter on ABC television’s Gardening Australia, a popular newspaper columnist, national public speaker, TEDx presenter, author, broadcaster and horticulturalist.
Legendary Neville Bonney South Australian native plant expert, ethnobotanist and published author, will be another special guest speaker on the day.
Faye McGoldrick, from the Mt Pleasant Natural Resource Centre will be talking about the very in vogue productive fascinating insect hotels. Insect hotels are popular amongst gardeners, fruit and vegetable growers due to their role encouraging insect pollination. Faye will show how to make your very own insect hotel.
Children’s program will go throughout the day, including floral designing, face painting, and nature play activities.
Local Country Fire Services will be onsite to run bushfire awareness day, opportunity to check out the latest in firefighting equipment, plus for the children to explore the fire trucks!
Mt Pleasant Farmers Market will partner with the festival , and run in conjunction with extended trading hours to align with those on the festival day.
The festival is proudly supported by the community of Mt Pleasant and surrounding districts, Mount Pleasant Farmers Market Inc., Mount Pleasant Inc., The Nursery & Garden Industry of South Australia, The Barossa Council, and the Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed.
Admission is $5 per person, $3.00 for pensioners and children under 15 Free. Gates open at 8am and will close at 3pm.
