The 2018 Spring Garden Festival will take place on Saturday 22nd September
The very picturesque township of Mount Pleasant is host to the very popular SA Spring Garden Festival and will be once again hosting the 2018 SA Spring Garden Festival, now in its third year.
The idea to hold the festival was floated by Mt Pleasant local and regular participant in the Clare Autumn Festival, that an affordable annual Spring Garden Show for exhibitors & customers be held at Mount Pleasant. The inaugural festival concept proved that there are too few garden related events in SA, especially country SA, as the festival well received by the numbers through the gate and this trend continued in its second year.
Mt Pleasant Farmers Market will partner with the festival and run in conjunction at the same precinct, they also will extend their trading hours to align with those on the festival day. The Festival and Farmers Market seem to work very well together.
“There are too few garden related events in SA so the festival was obviously well received. Loved the open feel and the fact that it was in conjunction with an already well known farmers market.” 2017 SA Spring Garden Festival customer
The SA Spring Garden Festival will appeal to a dedicated cohort of SA home gardeners seeking a competitive authentic garden festival experience. The scope of the event fits the whole spectrum of gardening – quality plants, garden furniture, decor & garden care products, sustainable gardening, guest speakers, a great range of native bush tucker.
Something for all the family will be the workshops for kids working with garden flowers with an experienced floral designer.
For the the DIY gardeners in partnership with the Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed, there will be demonstrations in recycled raised garden wicking beds, these garden beds will transfer to the onsite Talunga Caravan Park for future visitors, where they can pick food, donate seeds or seedlings and maintain the beds while they visit.
The festival is proudly supported by the community of Mt Pleasant and surrounding districts, Mount Pleasant Farmers Market Inc., Mount Pleasant Inc., The Nursery & Garden Industry of South Australia, The Barossa Council, and the Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed.
Admission is $5 per person, $3.00 for pensioners and children under 15 Free. Gates open at 8am and will close at 3pm.
