Spring is definitely in the air with the second SA Spring Garden Festival shaping up to be bigger and better than the inaugural Festival. The festival will be once again being supported by the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market, which will hold, in conjunction with the festival, an all-day market.
Project Officer Terese Stephens said, “Visitors can expect a varied 35+ stallholders, including the very “on trend”, South Australia Cactus and Succulent Society with their very comprehensive range. The South Australia, Rose & Iris Society will also be on hand to offer plenty of advice in their fields.”
“Variety is the key for the festival with stallholders Protea World, Manning Sculptures, Karkoo Nursery, Palm Plantation and also garden designer OLE Garden Designs just to name a few of the varied attendees.”
“Guest Speakers will include Karen Montgomery from KSpace who will be talking about water efficient wicking beds, along with Faye McGoldrick from Mt Pleasant Natural Resource Centre discussing insect hotels and the benefits that these can contribute to our environmental protection. Botanist Beverley Lane will also be giving advice on ‘Building and maintaining a herb garden in South Australian conditions’, also floral designer from, Flowers by Terese will give expert advice and a demonstration in “Garden flowers for your home and how to put them together like a professional.”
The festival will be held at the picturesque Mt. Pleasant showground on Saturday 23 September 2017, and will run from 8am till 3pm, with a gold coin entry fee.
Terese said “The festival will make for a lovely Spring day out connected with gardening. And the added bonus will be experiencing the award-winning Mt Pleasant Farmers Market with also 30+ stallholders in attendance. “
